Pierced the boys' club about Roger Vadocz

Roger Vadocz Tattoo artist

Pierced the boys' club

A Tampa Prep and HCC grad becomes an artist of the flesh.
Published Mar. 2, 2007

Jill Trilling makes her living getting under people's skin.

She is not given to introspection, so when asked about her background, she tends to shade the truth a smidge.

Okay, fine. She lies.

How did you get into tattooing?

"Prison," she says, straight-faced.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo?

"Seven."

No, really, how old?

"Seven," she insists. "Honestly, I don't remember."

Okay then. Seven it is. And what was the tattoo of?

"Something sacrilegious," she says, fumbling for an image, "a cross with a circle around it."

How many do you have now?

"Just one that keeps expanding."

That much appears to be true. Her arms, legs and chest - even her ears - are marked with permanent ink.

Trilling, 26, has been a tattoo artist at 1603 Tattoo & Body Piercing Co. in Ybor City for nearly three years. Thin and green-eyed, she has been perfectly content for the last five-plus years working in what is, for the most part, "a boy's world." She knows of only one female colleague in Tampa.

Trilling works 12-hour days, four days a week and can be found in the second work station to the left, wearing pink latex gloves and drinking a tall Cafe Americano from the Starbucks across the street.

No, she has never been to prison. She got her first tattoo in high school. Now, they range from small red stars and skulls to nearly nude women and other shapes and forms so bold in color yet so blended together that you can't really tell what's what.

Her quick wit and deliberately tall tales may throw you off at first, but give her a tattoo machine and a blank stretch of skin and she'll show you what she's really about.

Trilling graduated from Tampa Preparatory School and got her associate's degree from Hillsborough Community College. Her first job at a tattoo studio was at a place in Bradenton, answering phones and helping customers.

Then she got a job at Concrete Ink, now known as Atomic Tattoos, on N Dale Mabry Highway. That's where she learned her art.

A few years later she ended up in Ybor, at 1603 Tattoo & Body Piercing Co.

"Jill's the best," said Roger Vadocz, one of her regular clients. He has a thing for pinup girls. Several illustrate his arms, all courtesy of Trilling.

Vadocz spent a lot of time looking for the perfect tattoo artist, talking to people and doing research online. Trilling's portfolio caught his eye.

He came in for the latest addition to his busty entourage a week ago: a "fembot" - a female robot - on his upper left arm.

Before Trilling began, the artist and her living canvas discussed the design. It looked pretty good, he told her, except he really wanted lasers. More specifically, he really wanted lasers firing from the fembot's chest.

Trilling shook her head. Might be a little too much: "She's already holding a gun."

They reached an agreement (metallic colors, no lasers), and Trilling stretched on her pink gloves. She washed Vadocz's skin with soapy water, shaved it with a disposable blue razor and transferred the design by pressing thermal paper onto his skin.

Trilling slipped on a thin royal blue headband, and Vadocz took a seat in the exam chair, resting his head on a glittering pink plastic pillow.

Here's when Trilling gets down to business. A look of concentration falls over her, eyes barely blinking as she takes needle to skin.

The drilling sound the machine makes is strangely, well, piercing, but Trilling barely notices it anymore - in fact, she kind of likes it.

A Hilton With Southern Exposure

A Hilton With Southern Exposure

The Hilton homestead is aghast at the pickle in which scion Paris Hilton, 22, finds herself. Some hustler plans to sell a videotape featuring the hotel heiress in flagrante delicto with Rick Solomon, the husband of actress Shannen Doherty. The recording was made three years ago, while Solomon and Hilton were dating. Although the pampered party girl knew the video was being made, her reps said, leaking the video was "horrendous and in such bad taste."

"It's very obvious that whoever did this is doing it to hurt her," Hilton's spokeswoman, Siri Garber, told the Associated Press. "The Hilton family lawyers are getting involved as of now." While Paris is being consoled in Australia by her sis, Nicky, 20, their parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, are vowing to bring down legal Armageddon if the video is released.

Seattle-based Internet pornographer Roger Vadocz is oh-so-not intimidated. He plans to sell the tape for $29.95. A spy who saw the footage tells the New York Post, "She is so out of it, you can only see the whites of her eyes."

Hilton is one of the stars of Fox's new reality series "The Simple Life," set to debut Dec. 2, in which the socialite leaves the urban social scene to rough it in a rural, working-class setting

The man who had raunchy sex with Paris Hilton

 https://nypost.com/2003/11/12/tick-it-to-paris-video-lover-vows-to-sue-horny-hilton/

The man who had raunchy sex with Paris Hilton in a homemade video said he had nothing to do with the porn flick’s release and will sue her family for wrongfully accusing him, his lawyer told The Post yesterday.

“I won’t discuss the amount, but we are suing Paris, her parents and [publicist] Siri Garber for defamation,” Marty Singer said of his client, actor/producer Rick Solomon.

“They made it appear that my client engaged in criminal conduct with Paris and wanted the tape out there. He has suffered substantial damage.”

Singer accuses one of Solomon’s pals of swiping the tape.

“The person responsible for the theft . . . [is] not Rick Solomon,” Singer said, “[It] was a friend of Rick’s [who] at some point in time was in the house and took the tape.”

Singer said the pal gave the tape to Seattle-based Internet pornographer Roger Vadocz.

The original tape is close to 45 minutes long, but 3 1/2-minute snippets labeled “Paris Hilton Sex Tape Samplers” were sent to various media outlets last week.

Singer said that Solomon – the estranged hubby of actress Shannen Doherty – has filed a police report describing the theft and that “police are looking into the matter.”

Solomon’s business ventures include distributing amateur party videos of scantily clad women.

Meanwhile, if the Hiltons hope to stop their daughter’s video dalliances from going even more public, they’re too late.

There were a dozen purported peddlers of the sex tape on eBay yesterday, claiming to have video and digital copies of the romp for sale.

Bids topped $102 for the raunchfest sampler.

Sites all over the Internet were posting dubs of the 3 1/2-minute romp yesterday, while popular file-swapping services were buzzing with downloads.

“The demand is outpacing the supply right now,” said Eric Garland of Big Champagne – a “Nielsen-like” rating and tracking system for the Internet.

“Paris Hilton is No. 1 on the file-sharing services right now.”

She’s a hit with Hollywood types, too.

“Everyone in Los Angeles has a copy,” one public-relations big said.

Stars with copies include Pamela Anderson, who was once featured in her own X-rated videoed romp with then-hubby Tommy Lee.

“Pamela saw the video and loved it,” a source said.

And even bad-girl actress Doherty scooped up the tape of her estranged hubby with Hilton.

Paris Hilton’s been a busy girl.

XXXTRA HELPING – PARIS IN AT LEAST 10 PORN VIDEOS

Paris Hilton’s been a busy girl.

The hotel heiress has apparently made numerous tapes of her raunchy sexcapades, Hilton’s friend told The Post.

The source says he discovered a secret cache of sex videos two months ago when he visited the home of a friend to her former sex partner, Rick Solomon.

“I popped 10 of them [the videos] into the video player, saw 20 seconds of each tape before saying, ‘Enough. I get the picture.’ There is a whole catalog of tapes.”

The source, who has seen what he believes to be the full original tape made by Hilton and Solomon, says each snippet of the 10 tapes was different than the scenes he witnessed from the tape he believes was purchased by Seattle pornographer Roger Vadocz. The source also said all of the tapes contained Hilton and Solomon – or Hilton by herself – and took place at Solomon’s Hollywood Hills home.

But Solomon’s lawyer claims there is only one tape starring his client.

“The tape [that was sold to Vadocz] was filmed in more than one day,” attorney Marty Singer said. “You see [Hilton] on a plane at some point.

“This is a lie. We know Paris has done other tapes. There is only one tape of [Hilton] having sex with Rick. Period.”

Hilton’s friend said the tapes he discovered were going to be sold off to “Vivid Video, Playboy or ‘Girls Gone Wild.’ “

The original tape, which The Post sampled over the weekend, was made around three years ago, when the now-22-year-old heiress was either 18 or 19. It is not clear when the other tapes were made.

Hilton and Solomon were dating at the time of the first tape that came to light, and they later broke up – but the pair have remained close over the years.

Just last March, Hilton was again seeing Solomon – prompting a catfight between Hilton and Solomon’s estranged wife, Shannen Doherty, at the Los Angeles hotspot Deluxe.

The Hilton family declined to comment through a spokeswoman.

“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis did not return calls, a rep for Vivid declined to comment and a rep for Playboy said the magazine has never been approached about any of the tapes.

Meanwhile, the original Hilton/Solomon sex tape has been returned to the Hilton family – despite a three-minute “sampler” having been widely distributed over the Internet.

Vadocz’s lawyer, Derek Newman, told The Post his client returned the original tape to Hilton on Sunday, after the hotel heiress claimed she was a minor when cameras rolled on her raunchy romp.

“If we had to make a bet, we’d bet she was over 18. We believe she was 19 when the tape was made,” said Newman, who urged Web site operators to play it safe and fork over the tape to Hilton.

“[Vadocz] wants nothing to do with child pornography . . . we don’t take these kinds of allegations lightly.”

The 45-minute tape never ran on the Web site, Newman added.

Now that Vadocz gave the tape back to the Hiltons, he wants his money back.

“We will be suing [the man who sold Vadocz the tape] if he doesn’t refund the money,” Newman added.

“At first he said he was going [to refund the money], but now it looks like he won’t,” Newman said. “He told our client that Rick Solomon has the money. Rick Solomon’s lawyer said Rick Solomon has never received a cent for any of this.”

Solomon filed a police report last week against the man, claiming he stole the tape out of his house “at some point in time.”

The man who sold the tape to Vadocz didn’t return calls to The Post.

Local porn business tries to stay under wraps

Behind an unlabeled door in a building along Eastlake Avenue East lives the Marvad Corp., a lucrative online empire of Internet pornography sites that have made the owners rich men.

And until about a week ago, the unobtrusive office, in the same building as a chiropractor's office, was home to one of the few copies of a videotape showing Paris Hilton, the 22-year-old hotel heiress and reality-TV phenomenon, having sex a few years ago with her boyfriend at the time.

"You walk in there, you'd think it's an insurance office," Kevin Blatt, Marvad's publicist in San Diego, says with a laugh.

As anyone who regularly watches the E! cable channel knows, Hilton's ex-boyfriend, Rick Solomon, best known for being married briefly to actress Shannen Doherty, sued Marvad in federal court in Los Angeles last week, alleging the company had no right to post the video on the Internet and charge people about $29.95 each to see it.

In turn, Marvad sued a man named Donald Thrasher, 33, an acquaintance of Solomon's who somehow got a copy of the tape and sold it to Marvad for $50,000 plus royalties. Marvad contends Thrasher had falsely claimed to have rights to the X-rated video.

Also, Solomon has sued Paris Hilton and her family, alleging they defamed him by portraying Hilton as a rape victim and unwilling participant in the on-camera sex when she was 19.

Marvad finally agreed to give the tape back to Hilton and not put it on the Web after all. But there reportedly are other copies out there. And yesterday, tabloid-news reports said there may also be a tape of a different Paris Hilton sexual encounter.

The series of events has become a titillating controversy-of-the-moment that the operators of Marvad say they would rather not deal with.

"They're the complete opposite of what people think a Web pornographer looks like," Blatt says of Marvad. "They've realized the mileage they've gotten out of the publicity. But these guys are very ethical, very honest about what they're doing. And for them it's not even about the porn. It's about the business."

The Web pornographers, in this case, are two 33-year-old longtime buddies, Roger G. Vadocz, who lives in Tampa, Fla., and Brian Marchlewicz of Seattle.

Information about the pair is limited to the words of their publicist and a few references on Internet sites devoted to pornography. They generally do a good job of staying out of the public eye.

Blatt describes Marchlewicz as the technical brains, while Vadocz has the looks and the marketing skills. They have made lots of money, Blatt says, without saying how much.

"They've done very well over the years," Blatt says.

In fact, he boasts, the pair are among the few tech-porn pioneers who have kept their ledgers in the black through the years. While others, including friends in the industry, were sued, prosecuted or bungled their way out of business, the pair stayed ahead of the game, says Blatt.

The two, both from California, met in their 20s in Seattle, Blatt says. They were business savvy. At least one of them had a good working knowledge of the telephone industry. They apparently didn't mind pornography, so they started making their fortune running phone-sex lines, Blatt says.

In the mid-1990s, they began operating an Internet porn business that prospered and led to a string of different sites. "Low overhead and high profit," Blatt says. All the owners have to do is buy videos and photographs from other people, put it on the Web sites and cash the checks.

Nowadays, Vadocz portrays himself as a playboy. One Web site lists him as the No. 7 "most eligible bachelor" among a list of other Web-porn operators because of his wealth, dimpled good looks and ability to date porn princesses.

"Roger lives the lifestyle," Blatt says. "He's got the most amazing wardrobe you've ever seen."

Blatt won't say much about Marchlewicz, except that he's a married-with-children kind of guy who doesn't like having his name in the papers. Records show he married his 31-year-old wife last year.

But when the pair announced that they would put the Hilton video on their site, they couldn't avoid the attention.

Blatt insists Vadocz and Marchlewicz have been "very cooperative" with Hilton and her family.

The Hilton family attorney in California, David Rudich, would agree only that the company owners had indeed "settled their differences with Paris Hilton" but wouldn't discuss the matter further. Hilton released a statement Monday saying she was "embarrassed and humiliated" that her intimate life would become public.

Marvad's Seattle attorney, Derek Newman, says the company has indeed destroyed its copies of the tape. "Marvad was duped," Newman said.

Meantime, back at the previously anonymous office on Eastlake, the folks at Marvad still are doing what they do best: publishing porn.

"Everybody loves to watch a car wreck, and this is a big car wreck," Blatt says cheerfully. "But we're the victims here, because we're out $50,000 and the public never got to see the tape.

"And frankly, I think this is the best thing that could have happened to Paris Hilton's career."

Paris Hilton sex video reportedly to be offered via new Internet porn site

By Reality TV World staff, 11/10/2003

Additional details have begun to emerge regarding the mysterious "anonymous donor" who has been contacting numerous media outlets and providing them with short clips of a "Pamela and Tommy Lee"-style sex tape involving Paris Hilton, the star of FOX's upcoming The Simple Life series, and Rick Solomon, the husband of actress Shannen Doherty. Foremost among them is the apparent identity of the "donor" -- and his announcement that he plans to (surprise, surprise) offer the tape for viewing via a new Internet pornography website that he plans to launch shortly.

According to Newsday, Roger Vadocz, the president of Seatle-based Internet porn company called Marvad in Seattle, has provided US Weekly magazine with a three-minute clip showing two people he claims are Hilton and Solomon having sex and announced that he plans to stream the footage on his soon-to-debut website.

Solomon, 33, who's on-again off-again marriage to Doherty reported included a ten-day stay with Hilton at the Beverly Hills Hotel in March 2003, dated Hilton several years ago. The video was apparently filmed during that time and features Solomon and a 19-year-old Paris Hilton.

US Weekly news director Marc Malkin has confirmed he has seen a "raunchy" snippet and, in a story in the current issue of US Weekly, says that according to Malkin, Solomon set out to prove the film exists after Hilton, in an interview with New York magazine this past summer, publicly denied it's existence and said that Solomon was "a complete liar and scumbag." For their part, Solomon's representatives continue to state that he had nothing to do with the tape.

In the meantime, Newsday reports that the infamous Lizzie Grubman of all people has come to the defense of her longtime friend. "People are obsessed with Paris Hilton, and anytime they can find something that will show her in a debasing, derogatory way, they will," Grubman, who was convicted of vehicular assault for the 2001 Hamptons nightclub incident where she mowed down sixteen clubgoers with her Mercedes SUV. Wow, with friends like that speaking out...
